I started my LLM (SQE 1&2) Legal Practice Course with the University of Law in September 2024. Since then, I have sat and thankfully passed SQE 1! I am currently awaiting my SQE 2 results and ploughing on with my upcoming coursework assignments for my chosen modules.
My experience of my masters so far has been very positive. I have really enjoyed delving deeper into certain areas of law that I find particularly interesting. I have elected to study Mergers and Acquisitions, Advanced Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property and Employment Law. I feel like this has been a good mix of legal sectors and studying these modules has undoubtedly developed my legal acumen and commercial awareness.
It is currently July 2025 and I am increasingly occupied with coursework for the different modules. I have already made a start to one of my assignments and so far, the research and wider reading seems to be getting along well. I am at 2,000 words out of a 3,000 word count! It will definitely be relieving and rewarding once I have completed all of my assignments. I have one assignment due for August and the majority are due in September. However, I always feel like it is a good idea to make a start and get ahead so that there is plenty of time to review my work.
For now, I will continue working hard on my assignments and prepare for my SQE 2 results in August. As always, I have been simultaneously applying for training contracts. My next big goal is to secure a TC from a reputable law firm once I finish my masters.
Bye for now!
